 Story Telling

~ Culture sharing sessions ~

These sessions invite participants to listen, learn and connect through stories, art and artefacts that carry deep cultural and family meaning to Carmal and Jono.

We bring a collection of traditional tools and artworks—such as didgeridoos, boomerangs, and painting.   Sharing our stories and what they mean to us.

Books

~ Story Telling ~

At Yarn & Learn, we create and share a growing collection of books.

From beautifully illustrated children’s books to curriculum-aligned resources on topics like traditional burning off, our materials are designed to educate, inspire, and connect. Each resource is from cultural knowledge that has been passed down to us or that we have experienced our selves.  We only speak on what we know and what is true to our people.

Imi Friends

~ Plush talking toys Amber Warramba and Ray Ray the Yittikabay ~

Our IMI Friends are soft, cuddly plush toys that speak and share language and stories. IMI is the Tiwi word for totem, and each IMI Friend represents a totem animal connected to story, language, and Country.

Meet Amber the Wiradjuri Turtle and Ray Ray the Tiwi Crocodile—each toy comes with a storybook and is designed to help people learn about Tiwi and Wiradjuri culture through play and stories. These talking toys bring language learning to life in a fun and meaningful way, making them perfect for early learning centres, schools, and families.
